BEGINNER TREE CLIMBING WORKSHOP

COURSE OUTLINE:
  1. Equipment Check and use.
  2. Knot Tying and Use.
  3. Various Safe Tree Entries.
  4. Tree Hazard Check.
  5. Moving up the Tree Canopy.
  6. Rope and Lanyard Positioning.
  7. Install and use a Friction Saver.
  8. Retrieval of Rope.
 
Come out and have your rigging methods critiqued and improved while also earning 8 CFU’s
 
 
 
INSTRUCTOR: Robert A. Romeril
 
Rob has been climbing and operated a tree company in Calgary for 26 years. He set up and taught the AlbertaVocationalCollege – Arborist Program for 5 years. He is a previous Prairie Chapter Jamboree Champion. He has also taught at Mount RoyalCollege, University of Calgary, University of Saskatchewan, and OldsCollege. Ob is a graduate Forest Technician from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Ontario, a Certified Landscape Gardener and also I.S.A. Certified Arborist.
 
WHAT TO BRING:
  1. Personal Safety Equipment, Slings, Pulleys, Hand Saws
  2. All climbing gear. (various saddles and some gear will be available)
  3. Dressed for work and weather
 
 
All Participants must be covered by workers Compensation, either through their company of individual coverage.
